Let me just start by saying how much I love ice cream. Ice cream has always been one of my all time favorite treats and I’m happy to say that this has not changed after going vegan! First, I bought an ice cream maker so I could make all the ice cream combinations my heart desired. The next obvious step was to get a waffle cone maker because who doesn’t love a good waffle cone?
Well, I got a waffle cone maker and I love it! I experimented around and created my own recipe (because the ones I found on pinterest were way too over-the-top) and it turned out great. I’m going to share it with you here! Also, this is the waffle cone maker I use and it’s really easy to use and clean. I haven’t quite figured out how to get it to the color I want yet, but soon enough!
1 cup of flour
2 tbs oil
1/4 cup of sugar
2 pinches of salt
3/4 cup non-dairy milk
1 tsp almond extract
- Mix all ingredients well
- Place about 2 tbs of batter on the waffle cone maker and cook based on the directions provided for the waffle cone maker (for the one I use, I have it on the 4th setting and let it cook between 1.5-2 minutes)
- Once it is your prefered color, quickly roll the waffle around the roller and pinch the bottom of the cone (use a paper towel to help do this, the waffle is very hot)
- Hold in place until firm, let cool and serve.
Yields: 6-7 cones
