Maryland Renaissance Festival

My best friend and I went to the MD Renaissance Festival in Crownesville, MD  on October 15th. I haven’t been since I was a kid so it was a lot of fun to go again. It was about a 40 minute drive and we did hit quite a bit of festival traffic on our way there but otherwise it wasn’t bad. We stood in line for about 15 minutes to get tickets and then we were free to explore the festival. It was super crowded but we had fun.

Of course we got flower crowns as soon as we got in there so we could walk around the festival with them on 🙂

What’s Renn Fest without flower crowns? Just a crowded area with too many people, that’s what. We walked around and looked at all of the fun things being sold and checked out food options for lunch. I ended up finding falafel which was cool. It wasn’t filling but it was better than nothing. Annapolis mall is very close so if you want to you can leave and get food at the mall and then come back. As long as they stamp your hand, you can leave and come back in!

The only other thing I bought while there was tea. Because, you know, I’m obsessed with tea. So I got my favorite, peppermint, and chamomile and english breakfast tea. I really love tea. We mostly walked around and checked out all of the cool things they had (including the people who were dressed in some interesting costumes). We did catch a jousting show as well as the Puke and Snot comedy show (which may not be appropriate for children, take my warning). One of my favorite parts was sitting and watching the glassblowing people make a wine glass. I was mostly excited to sit after walking around all day haha 😉

I really wanted that pumpkin mug but it was $50 and and that’s way out of my price range. So, I shall just admire from afar.

Did you know jousting is the state sport for Maryland? I’ve always found that interesting. They even hold tournaments. I’ll have to attend one some day.

Lots of people

The festival was a lot of fun. It does add up so be prepared for that. It was $24 to get in and then $24 for a flower crown and that is exactly why I only bought lunch and tea while I was actually in there. This penny pincher is on a budget.

If you get the opportunity, go and check it out! An added bonus is the fact that it is in Crownesville, aka where my future house is located. There is also a Whole Foods right by the mall so we went and checked it out. It was literally the first Whole Foods I have ever been to because the closest one to me is in the city and I never feel like dealing with parking. Anyway, I got to experience Whole Foods for the first time ever and it was crowded and expensive but they had so many vegan things which was fantastic. Also got my hands on two of these bad boys. I’ve been waiting for so long.
